Phl conducts medical evacuation to ailing Chinese crew

Authorities have conducted medical evacuation to an ailing Chinese crew member of a foreign vessel bound for China on Sunday, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) said today.

The crew, identified as Zhou Ai Bing, 38, a boatswain mate, had to be evacuated from MV Ocean Pioneer for allegedly suffering from appendicitis, the agency said.

The Chinese crew member was successfully evacuated to La Union Medical Center for proper medical treatment, it said.

MV Ocean Pioneer, which came from Indonesia, immediately continued its voyage to China after disembarking the ailing crew in northern San Fernando, La Union province, the PCG said.-The Philippine Star (November 27, 2012 12:00AM)
