Philippines bags 2nd place in Mr World contest


The Philippines’ contestant in the Mr. World competition, Andrew Wolff, came in second during the events finale in Kent, England, Sunday (Philippine time).

According to the contest’s website, Columbia’s 21-year-old entry Francisco Javier Escobar Parra, was the night’s big winner as he was declared Mr. World 2012. Ireland’s Leo Delaney came in third.

The Mr. World competition describes itself as the “search for the world’s most desirable man.”

In a post on the Mr World – Philippines Facebook account, Wolff wrote, “2nd place guys. Sorry :'( Salamat sa inyong lahat diyan! Mahal ko kayo!”

However, he did win the Mr. World Multimedia award “with his energetic and engaging creations on his social media pages. He was deemed to have created the most exciting, informative and inventive news stories.”

Wolff is a flanker for the national rugby team, the Philippine Volcanoes.-GMA News (November 26, 2012 12:02AM)
